Gigabite single fiber optical media converter converts 10/100/1000Base-T electrical signals to 1000Base-SX. It increases the transmission distance of the network by means of an optical cable, as far as the SFP module allows. Single Fiber Media Converter exchanges data between old standard wired cables and modern fiber-optic cables. Data exchange means converting electrical signals to fiber optic signals. RJ45 port is installed on the interface where the wired cables come from. Fiber optic cable incoming interface is left empty for SFP. A fiber optic interface can have single fiber ports.
